Judy Nadin from Newcastle graphic design studio Rusty Vault and one of our favourite artists and caricaturists has won the 2010 Bald Archy prize with her painting of Bert Newton titled "Patti's Cake" . The satirical art prize was announced by Bald Archy creator Peter Batey (OAM) in Sydney on April 1st. When asked what inspired her paint Bert, Judy replied "I painted Bert for a number of reasons. Bert is an iconic Australian, he has a wonderful face to caricature & his cheekiness & humour encapsulate the spirit of the Bald Archy's".
The Bald Archy exhibition is on in the atrium of the ABC building on Harris Street in Ultimo and will be open 10am 'til 4pm daily until Anzac Day. After Sunday 25 April, the exhibition will tour to Coffs Harbour, Adelaide, Deniliquin, Bowral, Brewarrina, Melbourne and Cootamundra.
We'd like to congratulate Judy on her win and thank her for all the fantastic graphics work she does for Rainbow Visions. Judy helps us with brochures, posters and so much more.
